In the third quarter of 2022, the top five navigation and maps applications in Spain demonstrated diverse performance trends in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Below, we provide an overview based on data from Sensor Tower.
Google Maps Go maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 32K to 75K. The app saw its highest downloads in mid-July at approximately 75K. Active users remained consistently high, peaking at around 5.4M in early August but slightly declining to 5.2M by the end of September.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a more variable download trend, starting at 28K in late June and peaking at around 39K in mid-August before declining to 21K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar pattern, increasing from 539K in late June to a peak of 703K in early August, then dropping to 513K by the end of the quarter.
Google Earth showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at roughly 13K at the end of June and reaching a peak of 19K in early August. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight peak of 150K in late July before a gradual decline to 119K by the end of September.
Radarbot Speed Camera Detector saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, starting at approximately $7.2K at the end of June and peaking at $8K in mid-August, before dropping to $3.6K by the end of September. Downloads peaked in mid-July at around 20K, but decreased steadily to 8.2K by the end of the quarter. GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 14K in early August, but saw a decrease to 6.1K by the end of September. Weekly revenue showed a gradual increase, peaking at around $210 in early September. Active users increased from 32K in late June to a peak of 42K in early August, but then declined to 27K by the end of the quarter.
